Welcome!

Telescope

In these pages you will find the results of our project, concerning the Solar System, hold in the course of the school year 2008/2009.

It has been carried out in Italian during the web-editing workshop and then, during the English workshop, it has been written the English version

This project does not claim to be a scientific work but it can be useful to all those who wish to know the Solar System in its main aspects through a plain and a bit poetic...language.

With this project, "Luigi Pirandello" secondary school which belongs to "Regina Elena" Comprehensive State School in Solaro (MI), wishes to pay tribute to the Astronomy International Year.

In fact, the year 2009 has been declared the Astronomy International Year by UNESCO, the UNO department dealing with education, science and culture. It coincides with the four hundredth anniversary of the first astronomic observatins through instruments, made by Galileo Galilei in 1609 and the first discoveries achieved with them: the moon ranges, the sunspots, Venus phases, Jupiter's "Medicei" satellites (Io, Europa, Callisto and Ganymede).

To build up these pages it has not been used any special software. We wrote the code simply using Word pad in Windows.....and a lot of patience!

In relation to this project we looked up at several texts:

Thanks

It has been useful Mr Luigi Ferioli's help, the President of the astro-lover group in Saronno who has provided us with a great amount of literature, mostly a photographic one.

We also wish to thank our Technology teacher -Marco Strada- who wrote some nice poems on Planets.
